Dear Senate/Congress, I have recently moved to your district. I am an independent and want to introduce myself. I am retired military with a spouse on active duty in the Army. I am angry for what has happened in past years by both sides of the isles in the house and senate. It should be evident by the recent election that the majority of the people want our officials to work together to move our country forward. I think it is evident that we are tired of stalemate in the house and senate. Lack of Bi-partisanship has set our country back and if we get more of the same, more changes will be made by the people until we get officials who will work together. The right way is compromise. I for one will not tolerate anymore of the games that have been played by both parties. I will vote for any official who will work to move forward. I will also cast my vote against any official who continues to stalemate our country. Thank you for your time and know I will monitor progress by all our officials.
Sincerely,
How many emails like this have been sent from our computers? Does anyone really read these? Have our officials got the message or are they ignoring reality? Will the election results wake our officials up! Or will it be more destructive business as usual?
These and many more questions weigh heavily on our minds as we await action by those we have elected. I am sickened by recent years of stalemate. No winners and the one big loser....US! This election sent one very clear picture that our officials should heed...get something done! Find a way to compromise and move things forward. Find common ground, dig into those hard problems that have been ignored. Important issues loom, both parties have put us in this situation and it will take both parties working together to get us out.
What is our job to ensure things start working in Washington? We the people have a voice and it is time to make our desire heard. Continue to speak up to our officials, let them know we elected them and we can also take their seat away. We must make them know we will not tolerate radical left or right wing policies and will vote officials in office who will break partisan bonds and pass legislation that will move our country forward. This election has proved that our voice can be heard and collectively we can direct our officials to legislate for the good of all citizens in our great country, the United States of America!
